AGFE Youth Advisory Council

AGFE works to empower Emirati and Arab youth through education. The AGFE Youth Advisory Council seeks to embed the views of youth into AGFE programming so that programs are conceptualized, planned, and implemented with the guidance of direct beneficiaries. The Council will support AGFE’s thought leadership and programmatic efforts as well as shape future initiatives and engagements. To build the council, we aspire to appoint young Emiratis and Arabs who are interested and involved in topics regarding youth and are eager to contribute to the UAE’s and the Arab region’s sustainable development.

Applicants must:

  • be between the ages of 18 and 30 and live in the UAE (or Arab region)
  • be interested in the topics of education, entrepreneurship, and employment of Emirati and Arab youth
  • be able to communicate in Arabic and English
  • be able to attend all monthly meetings with AGFE leadership virtually
  • be able to dedicate 6 hours per month to Council activities (readings, groupwork, workshops, meetings, events)
  • have prior teamwork experience, as well as strong communication skills and involvement in their communities
  • serve as a council member for 2 years

The Council will:

  • serve as a sounding board for AGFE in relevant aspects of the Foundation’s work
  • allow AGFE to test ideas, gather feedback, and make informed decisions accordingly
  • think creatively with the AGFE team on how to design the most effective interventions that will lead to the greatest positive impact for Arab youth
  • work to support and contribute to the realization of the SDGs
  • connect with other youth councils locally and regionally
  • work together on their own projects related to AGFE’s strategic priorities.
  • work with the wider AGFE team in a variety of ways, including attending meetings, sharing ideas, and contributing to social media and events
  • co-create documents, articles, and videos to share thoughts and views
  • network and gain exposure to a variety of different stakeholders that collaborate with AGFE
